I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to put on here. If you know me, you know that I'm sort of particular when it comes to retail purchases and it often takes me forever to finally decide on actually getting something I want. I guess this is a good place to just list a bunch of things that I've thought about getting but either haven't had time to look into actually buying or simply can't afford.
Please treat this list as a guideline for what kind of things I like. It's really not what I would categorize as a "wish" list per se. I'm not walking around thinking about these things from day to day. In fact, putting this list together has taken a lot of thought and contemplation - which explains why it's taken so long to actually get published. Either way, thanks for taking the time to stop by and look around. |

Amazon.com | This is an easy way to see a bunch of things that I've looked at online. It's mostly books since that's what I buy most over the Internet. I've tried to throw some DVD's in there and some other random items. It's pretty useful in terms of being able to sort by type of gift, cost, availability etc. If you have the time, you can sift through there and see if there's anything worth getting. Amazon.com gift cards are also certainly welcome. |
Borders Books Gift Certificates | Borders is probably the retail store I spend the most time in but I rarely ever buy anything. The only time I do is when I have a combination of a good coupon and gift cards. Help me break the cycle of walking in, reading and walking out. |
Best Buy Gift Certificates | You can't really go wrong with getting just about any guy a Best Buy gift certificate. I'm one of those guys. There's always either something I could use or something I need at Best Buy so any help is certainly appreciated. |
Target Gift Certificates | I buy a lot of the stuff I need and use on a regular basis from Target. In fact, I probably make a trip there every other week at the very least. They also have good deals on a bunch of stuff that most people don't need. What a great store. |
Trader Joe's Gift Certifcates | Since moving to Northern California, I've been doing a lot more of my own cooking (and bringing my lunch to work as often as possible) so I've had to learn to do my own grocery shopping. I've gotten really good at it actually. The place I shop for my ingredients and daily nutrition most often is Trader Joe's unless some other place has a great deal on produce or something. |
iTunes Gift Certificates | I used to go to Tower Records with my friends almost every other day back in high school. Sadly, the days of the compact disc are severely numbered. I usually get my music from April but every now and then, there's something I have to get on iTunes and that's when these gift cards really come in handy. Yay for legally downloaded music. |
Red Robin Gift Certificates | April and I used to go to Red Robin a lot more than we do now. Somehow, I had never once gone to Red Robin until we started dating but the restaurant has since become one of my favorites. I don't think there are any up here but the gift cards will be a good excuse to come back to LA once in a while. |
Pinkberry Gift Certificates | I'm not even sure if Pinkberry offers gift cards but if they did, they are brilliant. More brilliant than they already are of course. If they don't, just treat me to Pinkberry the next time I see you. |
Container Store Gift Certificates | I love organizing stuff and you know I'll get to do a lot of that when April and I move in together. Certificates to the Container Store will certainly come in handy. |
Road Bike | For about a year, during my graduate school days, I was borrowing a bike from a friend and used to go on some pretty fun rides around the LA area. I don't own my own bike but it's been something I've been wanting to get for a while now. Here's the trouble, I don't know how large a frame I need. I think I was looking at a chart and it says for my measurements, I need a 51-53 cm frame. If it matters, the brand I was using and came to like was Trek. |
Nintendo Wii Gaming Console | I used to be a big video game nerd. Over the years, I sort of outgrew that part of me but I still enjoy playing a fun game here and there. I was thinking for a while about what system I would enjoy more and I think an XBox360 would be far too serious a gaming system so, in the interest of being able to play with April once in a while, I think a Wii would make sense. For my attention span as well, being able to play a game for a quick 20-30 minutes rather than 4 hours at a time, the Wii seems much more practical. |
Blackberry Pearl PDA Phone | I got a Palm m100 for my graduation from USC and I used it for so many years. Even when phones and PDA's began to integrate more, I refused to consider making a switch. My Palm's have since each died on me and my schedule keeping happens on paper now. I would consider getting an iPhone but I'm a loyal Sprint customer so getting something more PC friendly, yet as useful was the next choice. |
Apple Mighty Mouse | This is an expensive little piece of hardware but it's so cool. This thing has an all-direction scroll ball in the middle and although it looks like a single-button mouse, it's actually got a left and a right click function. |
Cirque du Soleil Show | One of things I've never done is see a Cirque du Soleil show live. I've seen Blue Man Group before in Las Vegas but the Cirque shows continue to elude me. I'm not sure if it's possible to buy gift certificates to see these shows, which would make things difficult since I don't know when I'm free to go see a show, but it would be nice. |
Sony MDR V700 DJ Monitoring Headphones | For the longest time, I was using these nasty old Coby (I think they used to sell it at the Wherehouse) brand headphones. I've wanted to get this set of Sony's for a long time. It's not cheap and I have no true everyday use for it but if I were to use something on a regular basis, these would be the headphones I'd love to have on. |
Bose Quiet Comfort II Noise Canceling Headphones | Another awesome, yet terribly expensive piece of hardware. I've tried these things a couple of times in the store and imagine using them on a plane or just at home when the roommates are making noise outside or something. I think this set of earmuffs runs about $300 if I'm not mistaken. |
Bose SoundDock Portable Digital Music System | If someone out there has this, please let me know if it's as good as it seems in the store. It just seems like a great idea but I've never actually considered buying one myself. |
